The Deporting Fraudsters Act of 2026 (H.R. 1958), passed by the House in March 18，2026 by a vote of 231-186, makes non-U.S. nationals who commit or admit to federal, state, or local public benefit fraud (including SNAP or Social Security fraud) deportable and inadmissible. The bill aims to increase immigration consequences for defrauding the government.

While the vote was along party line, where 210 GOP members voted Yea Vs. 186 Democrats voted Nay, there’re 20 Democrats voted Yea.
